How to Discern the Subtle and Deceptive Double-Speak of Cults.

 

Once again I'll be using Answers in Genesis as my example because

1. they are a text book case of a covert cult, 

2. they are so huge they rival the Freemasons in scope, secrecy and ability to lure people in under the guise of doing good things for God, and 

3. I am extremely familiar with AiG and their many ministry cohorts having followed them for many years.

However, these things apply to all cults.

Both Martyn Iles and Ken Ham, CEO of Answers in Genesis

 ("home of the Creation Museum and world renowned 

ArK ENcounter" - Ken's constant sales pitch), 

preach against the things they are personally doing, right down to minute details.

With Martyn, I think it's done subconsciously, like a sermon full of Freudian Slips. Even though he preaches with extreme arrogance, he seems to actually believe he is holding up all these great standards he preaches about and is demonstrating the core character traits of Jesus, like humility, and sacrificially giving of himself.

But Ken does it to put people off the scent of his greed and bizarre twisting of the Bible in order to manipulate and control. His sermons are rife with condescension because he holds the basic belief that he's right and you're stupid. This is HUGELY reflected in his manner of speaking, as if to very small children, even if the room is full of educated adults. If you go back and watch his sermons it sounds like he's a kindergarten teacher and will end every statement with, "Isn't that right, boys and girls?"

Mix that with his inflated sense of his own importance, his belief that he's the expert and that he is divinely appointed by God, which puts him far above the rest of us regular people.

Ken's response when people praise him for his steadfast Biblical stance 

"It's my calling from the Lord."

Receiving praise about his huge Theme Park which makes 200 MILLION dollars a Year 

"Well, you can't take it with you.". 

Both Ken and Martyn have been asked, 

"Why are so many people hostile and against you?"

Ken. "Well, they hated Jesus first and I'm following in his footsteps, so they hate me too."

Martyn. "Persecution is feature, not a bug in the Christian life."

But neither consider that THEY may be doing something wrong. No. The problem is with those who accuse them.

"Well, the Bible calls Satan 'the accusser of the Brethren"

 -Ken says (implying that anyone who accuses him of something is working for Satan.)

But since AiG continues to grow EXPONENTIALLY, it seems, uninformed, vulnerable people, who don't know the Bible very well, accept whatever Ken and his Followers say and, in doing so, step into becoming their newest victims. 

But there is hope. Sometimes just by being alerted to something we become aware of it and less susceptible to deception.

But there is NO substitute for knowing the Bible, doing daily study, spending the largest part of your day interacting with Jesus and allowing him to fill you with His Holy Spirit.

Cults and their BLATANT deceptions are everywhere these days, but I'm mostly trying to help you fine tune your skills to perceive the SUBTLE deceptions. 

Also encouraging is the fact that God knows ALL that is going on (even in people's hearts and minds) and the Lord knows exactly where to apply profound grace ...

... and severe judgment. 🤨

I'm doing my best to warn you but we ultimately know this is God's business and He will take care of it.

"He who has ears, let him hear." (Matthew 11:15)

The AiG people may desire for us to get comfortable here (seeing as they are such a massive part of modern-day Babylon) but God tells us to FLEE from it in these End Times. (JEREMIAH 50:8 & 51:6;

But since Ken, Martyn and their cohorts don't believe in Eschatology (End Times Bible Prophecy almost one third of the Bible), and money, money, money is their driving force,  nothing they spout out surprises me anymore.

(I am surprised, however, that nobody seems to mind that Martyn Iles has been giving the SAME Babylon talk for THREE YEARS STRAIGHT. Ugh. 😣)

Because Answers in Genesis, Martyn, Ken, Ray Comfort (Living Waters Ministries), Voddie Baucham, (the mighty) John MacArthur and tons of their loyal Churches throughout North America are all hooked up together FINANCIALLY and have their Followers push their products on unsuspecting people as they continue to grow EXPONENTIALLY.

 Even if you don't attend Church, their hundreds of thousands of members are EVERYWHERE in YOUR community to LURE you in and part you from your money.

I've heard that some people think I'm being too harsh on "sweet" Martyn Iles.☺️ That he's not all about money but he just wants to "spread the saving gospel" (whatever Martyn conceives that to be 🤷‍♀️).

 Okay. Let's look at Martyn's life growing up in Australia.  

* While still in "Christian" high school, Martyn used his fathers credit card to start an online wholesale Tech business and "was making oodles of money" (Martyn's words). However, because he was under-age (still a minor), he lied to his customers about being older because he feared they wouldn't do business with him if he told the truth.

* He has a MASTERS Law Degree. 

So he can fight for Religious Freedom in the courts❓️

Uh, noooo. It's a Degree in COMMERCIAL/Corporate Law because his goal was to live out his life hob-nobbing with the excessively rich and getting his hands on other people's money. (Which I've heard him openly admit was his goal)

Covert "Christian" Cults

 

Have you ever seen a magician start to do a trick by rolling up his sleeves and informing us that he has nothing up them? This is a "classic decoy tactic".While we're busy looking at his arms and his sleeves, the trick is actually being perpetrated at another location and often with the help of other people.

It is the same for, so called, Christian cults that hide behind redefined words and terminology, random Bible verses and SOUNDING Christian.

I am going to use Answers in Genesis as my prime example because they are a cult and they use many subtleties and deceptive ways to manipulate people.

Ken Ham, CEO of Answers in Genesis "which is home to the Creation Museum and the world renowned Ark Encounter"  (Ken's constant sales pitch), has us focusing our eyes on his Creationist, Young Earth beliefs and his big, flashy Theme Park (aka. his Sleeves) that we all ignore where the rabbit is. The "Rabbit" being his greed, corruption, twisted theology and utterly ridiculous "scientific" conclusions (not to mention his Narcissistic Personality Disorder and fixation on the first eleven chapters of the Bible).

Just like one of the fronts for the Scientology cult is a course on how to identify cults, so with Answers in Genesis, it comes in the guise of "standing up for Biblical authority",   Creation Science and turning Northern Kentucky into Christian Party HQ.  which is what makes them so dangerous (and so popular)

Christians aren't as  Bible literate as they used to be and are more interested in having a good time then sound Doctrine. Ken takes advantage of these things in order to sell products and give talks against being Bible illiterate and giving in to the seductions of greed, maintaining holiness and integrity while Living in Babylon. That way nobody will suspect him, and his AiG elites, of doing these exact things himself.

When I was a kid living in Canada (Oops! 🙊 I accidentally outed my  Nationality 🇨🇦 on the Internet again) there was a local magician named Dale Harney. He was huge success in our area, especially with all the little kids that watched his TV show every day. 

One night, Mom and Dad went to a party and the next morning Mom told me that the entertainment for the party was none other than Dale Harney. I was so jealous of her being able to see someone that great in person. 

I said, "He must have been fabulous to watch in real life." 😳

 Mom got a bit of a frown on her face and said,

"Well, Laura Lee, he's not that great in person."

 I was obviously shocked that she would say such a thing about Dale Harney. 

She quickly apologized for offending me but said,

"I'm sure he's usually very good, but you can only keep a rabbit hidden in your pocket for so long before people start noticing  that your coat is moving around and the restless rabbit gives up the trick."

This is my great hope about Answers in Genesis, and all the other myriad of cults masquerading as Christian Ministries,  that the Truth will make their corruption known and will blow all their tricks.

Martyn Iles: Making a Name for Himself from His IVORY TOWER of BABEL

 

I have been called by God to expose Answers in Genesis as a Cult, the greed of Ken Ham, Martyn Iles (and their co-horts) and to hopefully break their influence over others.

But I have not been doing this behind their backs, but I have repeatedly sent them, through emails, Links to my various posts. But they don't personally see them because they are completely insulated in their Ivory Towers and are in echo chambers, surrounded by "Yes-Men" (which is exactly the way they want it). All their information flows in only one direction, from them to us.

When Martyn Iles quit Answers in Genesis a few months ago, I suddenly felt quite hopeful about his future (for a change).

However, ☝️ he has demonstrated through his actions since then, that he has become as corrupt as Ken Ham in constantly asking for money and is set on building a Global Empire even larger than Answers in Genesis.

(BTW AiG makes almost 200 MILLION dollars a year, gets MILLIONS in Tax Breaks, has 1500+ workers (some who work for NO wages) and have a MILLION Followers Worldwide. - Have I mentioned they're a Cult yet? 🤔)

I am signed up to receive Martyn's Newsletter. The first one came a couple of weeks ago when he started doing promos for his new YouTube show, "At the Crux with Martyn Iles" 

(I did a previous post about that. See Link at the bottom).

The email was all about getting donations for his new online "ministry". I replied to him with a Link to a scathing blog post I did and told him what I just told you about exposing the guilt of Ken and those at Answers in Genesis.

When I didn't hear back from him, I sent a few images I thought might tweak his interest.

I still got no reply and I just found another email from Martyn in my Inbox and he's hitting even harder, unabashedly and shamelessly for MORE money. 🤑

I assumed he had removed me from his mailing list (just  like he has blocked 🚫 me from all his Social Media) but the fact that I haven't been removed from his list of Supporters reveals that he remains insulated by his workers and aloof  from the people he proclaims he has been "called by God" to help.

Somebody in Sydney (Australia) gave him $500,000 for a "matching donation". That means Martyn only gets the money IF we give him ours. So it's not a real donation but actually an INVESTMENT by somebody who wants to test the waters to see how much money Martyn has the ability to raise.

"How to Know if You Are in a Christian Cult"

Are You in a Den of LIONS or THIEVES❓️

 

Let's begin with the two events recorded in the Bible I am referring to.

Daniel in the Lions' Den

Daniel, while he was captive in Babylon, refused to bow to the king's idol. As a result he was thrown into a den of extremely ferocious and hungry lions.

The Bible tells us that God sent an angel to shut the mouths of the lions and the next morning Daniel was still alive and untouched. It demonstrated what a tremendous amount of faith Daniel had that he was prepared to face a gruesome death in order to remain true to God.

Jesus CLEANSES the Temple

When Jesus was in Jerusalem, he saw a bunch of people in the Temple courts selling things, making a large profit and cheating those who came to worship God.

Jesus became very angry, but instead of just losing his temper, he sat down to weave a whip. Then he gets up and uses it on the money-grubbers and overturns all their tables.

He yells at them, "My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers."

These days there are 2 groups of Christians:

The First Group are those who remain faithful to Jesus no matter what the consequences are.

The Second Group are those who make a profit from those who remain faithful to Jesus no matter what the consequences are.

Ministries and Christian musical artists who are Monetized by YouTube (with some very anti-Christian Ads on their channels) and/or selling Christian merchandise (at a large profit) and/or are asking for Donations are simply using Jesus and God's Holy Word to "Make a Buck off the Bible." 🤑

One thing I always wondered about the story of Jesus clearing the temple is, while He was sitting and weaving the whip, which must have taken a substantial amount of time,

What was he thinking?

What kind of look did He have on his face?

Why did He take the time to do it instead of immediately venting His zealous wrath?

What were his apostles thinking while they watched him making the whip?  

Did any of them dare to question Him about what He was doing?

 I think we should all be asking those questions right now because Jesus is about to "clear the Temple" again

and if you are making money from being a Christian and think God is just going to let that slide...

What is Blasphemy? (it's not exactly what you think)

 

When I was a teenager, back in the "Olden Days" (Oops! 🙊 I accidentally outed my age on the internet again), I attended a  Christian High-school and we were having a break from our regular weekly classes to participate in something called, "Special Emphasis Week". Several Christian schools met at a centrally located church and during the first morning we all assembled in the church's gymnasium for a talk.

It was a Youth Pastor giving the talk and at one point he was discussing something Jesus did then said,

 "Jesus was one cool dude."

I turned to the lanky teenage boy sitting next to me with his arms crossed upon his chest and a frown on his face and ask him,

"Excuse me, but he just call the Lord, God Almighty a 'Cool Dude'?"

"Apparently." (He answered with a scowl)

I muttered to myself, "I wonder why he did that?"

The boy responded,

 "He's trying to relate to us teenagers and appear relevant."

Let me tell you, we were NOT impressed.

Now let's look at the Commandment which deals with what "Blasphemy" is.

"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." 

(Exodus 20:7)

I think we can all agree that using God or Jesus Christ as swear words is Blasphemy, but the Bible actually states it is to use the Lord's name in a VAIN way that is what is a sin.

I was listening to an interview of Christian Contempory singer, Lauren Daigle. She was making some waves on the secular music charts and was being interviewed by a non-Christian who was asking her why she sang about Jesus so much.

Her response?

"Because Jesus is my Boo"

I replayed it just to make sure I had heard her correctly.

If you know anything about the Prosperity Gospel movement, the crux of it is the belief that if you ask for something "In the name of Jesus!" this somehow obligates the Lord to cough it up.

And (here's the one that burns 🔥  me the most)

If you have a YouTube channel that has sermons and/or Christian songs and it is riddled with Ads you are using the name of the Lord in a vain (money-grubbing) way and basically "Making a Buck Off the Bible". 

For example, I was watching a sermon on YouTube and the Preacher said,

"Jesus asked them this very serious question..."

THEN suddenly an Ad showed up and started with the words,

"Do you know how to get rid of stuck poop?"

I think you're getting the gist of what I'm saying.

When we do not acknowledge who God, and His Son Jesus, really are and lose perspective on His majesty, divinity and holiness we will demean His name.

So, instead of feeling smug because we don't use God's name as a curse word, we need to examine just how huge or small we perceive God to be.

Here's some help.

"I AM the Alpha and Omega ..."

Now back to Lauren Daigle for a moment.

I judged her very harshly for saying Jesus was her Boo and I was praying about it.

"Lord, I've said some pretty outrageous things to you throughout the years  [47 years to be exact]  and as we've grown in our intimacy I've called you some things that might not go down with my fellow Believers if they heard them. Maybe I should cut Lauren some slack."

His response was, "There is a vast difference between familiar and flippant, Laura-Lee."

I don't know where Lauren's heart was, but when I say something I feel is taking God's name in vain, I reset myself with the verses I've given you and end with,

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

(Isaiah 9:6-7)
